Black Men Don’t Cry is an insight into one man’s journey through coping with mental health. Marcus is a 36 year old man from South West London who suffers from depression. Depression is an issue that affects many, both male and female. People of colour are less likely to disclose issues of mental health because of the bias that surrounds it. Marcus' depression has changed his personal relationships and his career choices. Through everything he has had to cope with alone he has continued to preserve.
Black Men Don't Cry aims to continue to highlight depression from a personal perspective of someone who does suffer from the condition. I aim to allow a younger audience into the discussion of depression, as well as giving society time to reflect and question their own judgements of those who are different.
