'I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, / starving hysterical naked...' (Howl, 1955).
In some ways, REDGREENBLUE is a response to Ginsberg's 'Howl', the poetic cornerstone of the beat generation. As in the world of Ginsberg's poem, the world today is a cacophony of images and sounds and sensations that, combined, serve to numb the senses. Only today, these sensations are not the drug-fuelled bohemian jazz of 50s America, but an over-saturation of digital images that glare from every corner of our lives. The purpose of REDGREENBLUE is not to condemn the digital image, but to challenge the way we consume it.
